Stamping Ground & Sadieville

Stamping Ground is located about 9 miles outside of Georgetown. Before seedlement, buffaloes would come through what is now Stamping Ground and drink the water in Buffalo Springs. The Buffalo would stomp the ground while waiting their turn for the water from the springs which is essentialy how "Stamping Ground" got it's name.

Sadieville was established in 1880 and named after Sadie Pack, who was one of the most honored citizens of Scott County. Sadieville started out as a well known railroad town. Sadieville is known for shipping over $13,000 worth of rabbits, hides, produce, and more in 1904. It is a small town, but quickly growing.
