Cardome & Japanese Garden

Cardome Centre and the Yuko-En Japanese Frienship Garden are located very close to each other near the Elkhorn Creek. Cardome is a very historical building which has been a major influence in the history of Scott County. There have been many people who owned the property in the past, going back to indian tribes such as Choctaw, Mingo, and Shawnee. It is a beautiful property with many beautiful trees and flowers. The Yuko-En Japanese Friendship Garden is very close to the Cardome Centre. It was built by donations from local buisinesses on a former monastery built in 1898 and cost around $1 million to build. It is a total of 6 acres and is one of the largest Japanese Gardens in the United States. It is a very nice garden filled with many plants and beautiful landscaping.
